Kefas, Sule Meet In Lafia Over Border Security

Taraba State governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, had on Saturday held a strategic meeting with his Nasarawa State counterpart, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, in Lafia to strengthen border security and deepen collaboration between the two neighbouring states.

The meeting, held at the Government House in Lafia, focused on measures to improve intelligence sharing, enhance joint security operations and to safeguard lives, property and economic activities along the Taraba-Nasarawa border.

This was contained in a press statement issued to newsmen in jalingo, by the State Commissioner of Information and Re-Orientation, Barr. Zainab Usman jalingo, saying the meeting forms part of ongoing efforts by the Taraba State Government to build stronger partnerships with neighbouring states in addressing common security concerns and advancing regional

The statement quoted Governor Agbu Kefas, after the meeting as saying hat, security remains the cornerstone of his administration’s development agenda, as such sustained cooperation with neighbouring states is critical to tackling cross-border security threats.

He said closer collaboration would not only protect lives and property but will also boost economic activities and promote lasting peace and stability across the region.

The two governors also discussed strategies for strengthening inter-state security coordination to address emerging security challenges affecting communities along their shared boundaries.

The engagement underscores the commitment of both administrations to fostering regional cooperation and implementing coordinated measures, aimed at improving security and creating a conducive environment for development.
